without another thought, he pushes through the door, entering the bar which just so happens to be designed like a speakeasy without the complicated entrances.[break][break]

inside, it's dark with a quiet ambiance that exudes a certain sense of grit. he finds it oddly comforting as he leads them over to the bar.[break][break]

Eva smile in agreement, glancing back at the rather simple door. Could be a strip club for all they know. Only one way to find out!

She follows Matias into the dark bar. It takes a moment for her eye to adjust but overall, she likes what she sees. There are not many people inside but there is a low buzz of conversation amidst the shuffling of glasses by the bartender.

“Uhhh yeah! If they have it,” she glances behind the bar at the selection, impressed by the variety.

Eva stands beside him at the bar as he orders, leaning to glance up at him with a little grin, “We haven’t sat down had a drink together in quite some time,” if the world ended tomorrow would she regret that? Absolutely.

Even after all this time, she way he looks at her brings a warmth and subsequent flush to her cheeks. It warms her, and she smothers a smile beneath her sigh, “Yes, it’s been too long,” she agrees, her hand slipping across the bar for the chilled glass.

“We work too much,” she jokes with a half-hearted chuckle. It’s true, but it’s also who they both are at their core, and they both know that. They’ve always been servants to the greater good, willing to sacrifice too much for strangers.

“I miss it too,” she turns to raise her glass and cheers him, “To our next date night,” her smile brightens, focusing on their future rather than what they’ve missed.

The whiskey provides a familiar warmth as it slides down her throat. It’s tied to many, many memories. A lot of them include MATIAS SILPH. She smacks her tongue to roof of her mouth as she sets the glass back down, “Mmmm that’s good,” she whispers, mostly to herself.

Eva can remember her last drink. It was with illeana reyes in her office, before the two had their falling out. It’s not tied to good memories, so she suppresses it with another quick sip.

“Wine?” Random question, but she shrugs her shoulders, “Yeah, I like the red stuff. Nothing sweet though,” she hasn’t found a white she likes to date.

Split a bottle wine? It’s not unusual but it’s unexpected. She watches him quickly finish the rest of his whiskey, “Feeling adventurous?” she mirrors his enthusiasm and finishes her own glass of whiskey, “Yeah, I’ll split one with you,” she slides her empty glass towards the barkeep and signals them over with a friendly smile, “A bottle of wine, please! Something red and . . . not sweet,” she’s not sure what they have, “Did you have something in particular in mind?” she asks Matias.

the barkeep nods, flees, then returns with their bottle in a bucket. they uncork it, then pours a bit into a glass before offering it to eva.

“Sangiovese?” She repeats the word, perhaps not as well as the cultured Matias, “That sounds fancy.”

Eva knows it is courtesy to offer her the first sip, that’s why she doesn’t deny it, “I’m not sure what tasting for but . . . sure!” Before sipping the taste she takes a quick sniff (she’s seen it done like that on TV). After swirling the liquid around in her mouth she smacks her lips together, “Hmmm, I taste nots of . . . cedar bark, dark chocolate, and raspberries,” she’s totally talking out of her ass.

but after a quick nod, the barkeep proceeds with pouring them wine. they leave moments after, granting them their privacy once more.[break][break]

matias picks up his glass, raising it towards her.[break][break]

"to cedar bark, dark chocolate, and...what was the last one?"

Eva does her best to look at Matias like he’s crazy for not knowing what cedar bark is, “It’s cedar bark . . . duh!” she scoffs, doing her best to muffle a small smile.

Eva lifts her now full glass to gently clink it against his, “Rowap berry,” she confidently says with a smile even though that’s not what she said at all. Eva takes another sip, letting the rather pleasant liquid tingle her taste buds, “Hmmm, I do like this. What inspired you to order some wine?” She glances at the bottle again, “We should get some of this for the house.”
